Christie’s Athens, 1996
Offices and educational facilities

Christie’s first representative office in Athens was designed and completed in 1990 by our practice. In 1996 Christie’s expanded in Athens to new offices and educational facilities. At the same time it began to conduct The Greek Sale auction in London.

The new Christie’s Athens facilities occupied the top floor of a central office building with a view towards the Panathenaic Stadium where the Olympic Games of 1896 took place. The new premises accommodated various functions and a private viewing room, as well as educational facilities for the Christie’s Education program. The design of the new facilities aimed to introduce a modern approach that would acknowledge the heritage and tradition of the company.
